Our organisation, Duzce University, has been estabilished at 2006. It has 4 institutes, 14 faculties, 10 Vocational School and over 30.000 students. Three faculty and three vocational schools of our university are directly relevant to the project’s topic. These faculties are:
-Faculty of Engineering,
-Faculty of Technology and
-Faculty of Business Administration
Both the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Technology have a computer engineering Department and the Faculty of Business Administration has a Management Information Systems
Department. In addition three of our university’s vocational schools (Akçakoca, Düzce and Gölyaka) have computer programming departments. In these departments, we have qualified and professional staff who can contribute to the Project work. “Enterpreneurship” and “University-Sector Cooperation” are among the main objectives of our organisation. Our organisation has, since its establishment, been involved in various educational projects and it is currently coordinating a big number of projects. Our main perspective is being student -focused and so we are always working for enrichment of the values of our students
The University of Ioannina (UoI) has more than 15.000 undergraduate and post graduate students,550 Members of Academic Staff, 170 Teaching Fellows and 130 members of Technical Laboratory Staff. The University Administrative Services are staffed with more than 280 employees. There are a number of postgraduate study programs on offer, which combine teaching and research elements, both at Master’s and Doctoral level. Approximately 1,300 students are involved in full-time study progressing to a Master’s degree, while more than 2,200 students are currently pursuing their studies at Doctoral level. The University includes 15 Departments operating in 7 Faculties, more than 50 research centers and laboratories as well as central services and infrastructures all contributing in strengthening education and research activities.
Within a 50-year span, the University of Ioannina has been firmly established and its development prospects appear to be particularly promising. This is likely to have a continuing positive contribution o both the academic community and the region as a whole.
High quality research activity is implemented in every aspect of the scientific areas covered by its Academic Departments, including basic and applied research in information and communication technologies, engineering, science, arts, medicine, biology, new materials, economic studies, environment, philosophy, psychology, history and archaeology, Greek literature, linguistic studies and training methods.
UoI participated in many National and European funded activities and as a result it has a proven long-term experience in managing, monitoring and coordinating research, educational and development projects. Furthermore, it has coordinated activities related to infrastructural development and equipment acquisition projects as well as many education and training activities. Additionally, UoI has successfully undertaken industrial contract research projects both on a National and International level. For this reason UoI has implemented and established a Quality Management System in conformance with the International Management System Standard ISO 9001:2008, as well as the Greek Management Efficiency Standard, with a scope of “Project Management of Research and Development of Technological and Other Related Programs and Activities”.
UoI engages in high quality interdisciplinary applied research activities of high importance to the Greek industry, economy and society. Research is mainly financed by the European Commission, the Greek Authorities, as well as the Greek General Secretariat of Research and Technology as well as other funding sources.
Other research funding sources are the Ministry of Development (now Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change) as well as bilateral agreements and research grants given by International Organizations to promote specific research areas by research staff and their postgraduate students. Furthermore many research groups from both the University of Ioannina and other Greek or foreign institutions are collaborating under several international research programs.
Today, the University of Ioannina participates in the development of several research projects in the research areas of science, chemistry, new materials, biochemistry, biology, biomedicine, environment, education technologies and science, arts, as well as information and communication technologies.
All funded research activities are coordinated by the University of Ioannina Research Committee (UOI-RC), whose main aim is to manage the National, EU and industrial contract research projects in accordance to National and EU financial regulations, as well as ISO 9001:2008 standards. The aim of the University of Ioannina Research Committee is the disposal and the undertaking of funds, which come from any source and are intended to cover expenses of any kind, essential for the needs of research, educational, trainingand developmental projects as well as for the needs of continuous training projects. These funds can also cover expenses of projects that provide scientific and technological services, the elaboration of special tudies, the implementation of tests, measurements, laboratory exams and analyses, consultations, as well as other related services or activities that contribute to the connection between education and research with the industry. These services and activities are implemented or provided by the scientific personnel of the University of Ioannina, in close collaboration with other specialists or external scientific personnel. The aforementioned Quality Management System is compliant with the requirements of the Greek Management Efficiency Standard, in the scope of “Project Management of Research and Development of Technological and Other Related Programs and Activities”.
For over seven decades, the national University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology of Târgu Mureş (UMFST), with programs in Romanian, Hungarian and English, is a dynamic, powerful and fast developing university, whose core ideals are professionalism and performance. Medical education in Târgu Mureş began in 1945, when the Faculty of Medicine was founded as a branch of the Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca. In 1948, the institution was named the Medical and Pharmaceutical Institute of Târgu Mureş. In 1965, the Institute was granted the right to organize doctoral studies, providing a high level of doctoral research in the medical field. In 1991, the Institute was renamed the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, with 3 faculties (Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy). The UMFST is as an accredited public institution with legal personality, being the only university in the field of Health, with study programs in Romanian, Hungarian, and English. The University of Medicine and Pharmacy has had the most dynamic development from all the medical schools of Romania. The number of students has increased significantly over the past 3 years. The “Petru Maior” University of Târgu Mureş, founded as the Pedagogical Institute of Târgu Mureş, has been through several organizational stages: between 1960 and 1977, The 3-year Pedagogical Institute of Târgu Mureş; between 1977 and 1984, The Institute of Higher Education of Târgu Mureş; between 1984 and 1990, The Institute of Engineering Technicians of Târgu Mureş; between 1990 and 1991, The Institute of Higher Education of Târgu Mureş; between 1991 and 1995, The Technical University of Târgu Mureş; between 1995 and 1996, University of Târgu Mureş; from 1996 to 2018, The “Petru Maior” University of Târgu Mureş. The academic and research structure of the “Petru Maior” University of Târgu Mureş is built of components that ensure the didactic and research activities development.
The Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Sciences and Letters and the Faculty of Economics, Juridical and Administrative Sciences are the component Faculties of the University. In the latest years, the “Petru Maior” University has diversified its activity by organizing doctoral studies, teacher training activities for obtaining the 2nd and 1st teaching degrees and by linguistic training courses of Romanian language for foreign students (the Preparatory Year). The IT skills of our students are developed through different courses offered by the Faculty of Sciences and Letters, Faculty of Economics and Law as well as Faculty of Engineering. The educational offer, organized by different department (Computer Sciences, Accounting and Management Informatics, Electrical Engineering and Computers), combine traditional and more recent study themes, of undeniable importance in the current cultural context. The didactic activities are performed by a qualified and experienced teaching staff, apreciated at national and international level, as well as by research support structures.
The evaluation of the professional training is done throughout the whole year of study, culminating with oral or written exams, which are scheduled in the exam sessions at the end of each semester. The academic computer studies are finalized with a degree exam, consisting of assessing the fundamental IT and specialization knowledge, and defending a diploma project, which can be followed by post-graduate studies or master degrees.
The teaching staff and equipment of the Faculty of Sciences and Letter, Faculty of Economics and Law as well as Faculty of Engineering provide our undergraduate and graduate students with good technical, economic and management knowledge to become competitive and flexible on the labour market. The Faculties are involved in numerous international collaboration projects with universities world-wide, and they encourage international mobilities for both students, teaching and administrative staff. The experience gained has beneficial effects, determining professional development, intercultural exchange and strengthening international relations, thus contributing to the prestige of our Faculties. Students and student organizations are involved in research, social, cultural and sports activities, as well as in university management process. These activities are stimulated by student and the scientific research centers.
The University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMF) of Târgu Mureş became the University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology of Târgu Mureş (UMFST), following the completion of the legal procedures of merger with “Petru Maior” University, according to Government Decision no. 735/September 20th, 2018.
Technical College Gheorghe Cartianu from Piatra Neamt, N-E region in Romania, is a big technological high-school with 1450 students and 75 teachers. 72% of the school students are living in rural areas, in the same time the industry of the region is very poor because of the economical recession, agriculture and tourism are the base of the economy in the area. In this conditions we have to enhance our students with skills that will help them to work in small enterprises or microenterprises to be able to create their own businesses and to be able to be mobile, to work in other European countries if necessary.
The range of qualifications that can be obtained in our school is very wide and can be divided into five major areas: computers and computer science, electronics and telecommunications, fine technologies, mechanical and metalworking, construction and building design, textiles and leather, chemistry and environmental protection, food industry and services . In each one of this areas we qualify our students at level 2 or 3 (VET school level or VET high-school level). We also qualify adults for the 5 qualifications : Technician in computer science, Worker for building crawling , Worker for textile assembling ,Welder, Locksmith for metal structures and technological equipment.
The N-E region where our school is situated is one of the poorest regions of Romania . The industry in our county is situated at a low level with consequences in creating jobs. As a general consequence of the industry decline the unemployment rate is very high and the graduates cannot find workplaces easily in the first years after graduation. The graduates unemployment rate was 20% at the end of 2015. Most of the youngsters are migrating to urban regions from Romania or from other countries after
The 2nd Evening EPAL of Ioannina is a Vocational Upper Secondary School located in Ioannina, one of the most beautiful and picturesque cities in the Prefecture of Ioannina and north-western Greece.
The school offers a wide range of specializations in the following fields: ΙΤ, Economics and
Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering-Electronics, Health and Welfare. The school has 44 teachers and 320 students, all of them from middle and lower class families and a wide range of ages. The majority of our students are either employed or unemployed adults who seek a new chance for education and training, as they missed their first chance as teenagers. They come back to school, after many years, to make their dream come true. A small number of our students are
teenagers who are forced to work due to livelihood reasons.
Under the hard socioeconomic circumstances that our country faces, due to the deep economic crisis, our school offers invaluable social work giving students the opportunity to:
• deal with the period of unemployment in a creative way
• reduce the feelings of depression that they may experience due to lasting unemployment
• raise their spirit and self-esteem
• acquire full vocational knowledge and skills that offer them better labour market opportunities.
In addition, the flexible curriculum gives employed adult and teenage students the opportunity to finish their studies, adding to their career profile. Students who graduate from our school acquire two different diplomas according to the European
Qualifications Framework: a High School Diploma (level 4) and a Specialization Diploma (level 4). Additionally, after graduation, our students can attend an apprenticeship program and after taking a level 5 Specialization Diploma according to the European Qualifications Framework.

Our school is a vibrant institution that cares for the promotion of learning conditions that respect both adult and teenage students’ learning needs. Our philosophy is that school must be a celebration : “a celebration of knowledge and creativity”. Our school teachers’ basic pursuit is to create a friendly environment that enables students to broaden their horizons, to discover and take advantage of their talents and inclinations, to socialize, to acquire knowledge and vocational training that prepares them for the labour market.
In order to fulfill our differentiated aims, despite our students’ limited free time, our school organizes a variety of extra curricular projects, sometimes in cooperation with local institutions, such as music and drama performances, volunteer, health and environmental projects, a reading club. During the current school year our school is taking part in the European School Radio program. The basic aim of our school is to become more extrovert taking part in European Programs that will offer both teachers and students the opportunity to meet the culture and professional profile of other countries.
Just last 2 years our school operates in ERASMUS + KA1 programs. During the last school year, 3 teachers of our school participated in the approved program titled “Creativity in Teaching and Learning using Web 2.0 Technologies”. This year our school participates as a consortium member in the approved project entitled “Applied European Professional Educational Practices, able to (re)start Greek Vocational Education and enhance its social and labour role”, a multi-flow project for moving
and educating students and teachers from various fields.

”Jane Sandanski”- Secondary Municipality School is situated in the central part of the town of
Strumica. Our school was founded by the Municipality , dating back on the 05.02.1947 till today,
”Jane Sandanski” is achieving great success, following the changes of the time, obtaining visible results that make us proud of. As a secondary school with combined education (General and Vocational Economics) ,”Jane Sandanski” is registered as an independent legal subject (verification of high education No. 09-245/1 from 15.05.2004 and Economics education No. 11-830/2 from 11.05.2006)
The school consists of 45 classes, with a total number of 1406 students, who follow the lectures in two shifts and total of 102 employed : 90 teachers ,1 principle, 2 shift managers, 1 school psychologist,1 school pedagogue,1 librarian. All employees are with an adequate higher education and have a great number of different certificates. It is a highly cadre potential that quarantines quality education. There are few students with disabilities, included with other students, due to school polices in our country. Most of the students are Macedonian, but there are few from other nationalities, Roma, Turkish, too. We have students from different social levels, almost one third travel every day from rural places of our municipality and wider.

In recent years FyG has developed and implement a number of European international cooperation projects with Erasmus+ and COSME programme, dealing with enterprise creation and development, employability, management, Start Ups training, internationalization, Gamification and Innovation of the Entrepreneurial Training. accredited by the Greek National Organisation for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance–EOPPEP. DIAS VET was founded in 2009 in Karditsa. Our organization has also 2 full operational offices in the cities of Trikala and Volos.

Our vision is to be evolved into a competitive, European wide VET organization. Our mission is to provide education and training opportunities, counseling, and support to individuals and businesses by promoting excellence and quality in vocational education and training. Around half of the EU’s population acquires their first job-related skills through VET. Many more go on to develop those skills and to learn new ones through continuing training and other learning at the workplace. This is increasingly important as Europe’s workforce is getting older, but changes to technology and jobs are coming faster. If the E.U. is to have the right skills to fill the jobs of today and tomorrow, training must be of high quality. The right policies need to be in place to ensure that people learn the right things; that their skills, no matter if they have acquired them in the formal training system or by working, are recognized and that they can have the training they need when they need it. DIAS VET is aligned with the E.U. strategic framework in fighting the rising levels of unemployment – particularly among young
people-, and confronting the same risk which also affects high number of adult workers (phenomena of social exclusion and the increase of poverty are more and more evident, threatening the social cohesion and standard of living), through the improvement of provided education/training in terms of quality and efficiency.DIAS VET mission is to provide certified education & training opportunities, counseling & personal development in order to contribute in quality of life improvements.
The structure of DIAS VET is comprised of the following sections: European programs, national programs and counseling services (entrepreneurship and agricultural management), focusing on the operation of the organization as VET provider. DIAS VET has a twotier board structure consisting of the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board. The Executive Board consists of the Executive Directors (main structure, branches and Project Management Office). The Executive Board is responsible for the day-to-day management of the company as well as for developing and implementing the organisation’s long-term strategy. The Executive Directors report directly to the Supervisory Board and are responsible for the transmission and execution of its direction, as well as for the overall supervision of the staff implementing the projects. The Supervisory Board is responsible for controlling management performance and advising the Executive Board. The Supervisory Board is made up exclusively of the owners of the organization. The organization employs 11 full-time staff and 50 part-time trainers / experts.
Target groups for our organization and its activities are adult men and women (workers and unemployed), people with high potential but also those who face (for whatever reason) the risk of exclusion from the labor market. DIAS VET follows the National and European Framework of Vocational Qualifications for lifelong learning and aims to shift the view from a learning process that is geared to contributing to learning outcomes, towards a lifelong learning process corresponding to the labor market and helping local community to progress.
